love came ....

Love came one day
On a cold,wintry day
Of relentless winds and unforgiving cold
Knocking on my door
To bring me warmth
‘what do you want?’ I asked
‘a place to stay’ came the reply
‘i’m sorry but I can’t ‘ said I
‘its alright, I’ll stay on the porch then’ said love
‘if it suits you,its fine with me ‘ I said
and through all those days
and winter months
love camped on my doorstep
‘taking shelter, till spring comes along
if I may?’
‘sure, any little help I can do
to make you happy,I’ll try’
I said
Time flew in between shared dinners
and story telling
winter went its way, as it always does
and spring came along, as it always does
bringing with it blooming trees
blossoming flowers, twittering birds
happy faces , cheer and joy
and love stayed on
for me. (forever).
